Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theatre Rules

Thelma Gaylord PAT asks that guests read and understand the following rules and policies to maximize their enjoyment of their visit. Attending an event at the Thelma Gaylord Performing Arts Theater provides a safe and enjoyable experience when all attendees adhere to the venue’s rules and policies. These policies are in place to ensure that every guest has a memorable and comfortable time at the theater, while also respecting the needs of performers and fellow patrons. Always check the specific event details on the TG-PAC website or contact the box office for any additional or updated information regarding rules and policies before attending a performance.

The TG-PAT, like most professional venues, has several rules and policies designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful experience for all patrons. These guidelines help maintain the integrity of the performances and the comfort of the audience. Here are some key rules and policies typically observed at the venue:

Conduct and behavior

Patrons are expected to behave respectfully and not disrupt the performance. This includes refraining from talking, making noise, or moving around during the performance. If necessary, staff may ask disruptive individuals to leave the venue.

Guests will be asked to silence or turn off all cell phones and electronic devices before the performance begins. The use of electronic devices for texting, phone calls, or browsing during a performance can be disruptive to others and is generally not permitted.

As for children, many performances at TG-PAT are family-friendly, but some may have age recommendations or restrictions due to content. Children of all ages may need an admission ticket, depending on the event. Infants or very young children may not be permitted, especially for more formal events. It’s recommended to check the age policy for each specific event.

Safety and security

The theater takes safety and security protocols very seriously, so upon arrival security screenings will be conducted at the entrance. This could include bag checks and the use of metal detectors. Cooperation is recommended to ensure a smooth entry process.

The venue is equipped with clearly marked emergency exits, and patrons should familiarize themselves with the location of these exits upon arrival. Emergency procedures are in place, and staff are trained to assist in the event of an emergency evacuation.

Dress code

While there is no formal dress code, many guests choose to dress up for performances, especially for more upscale events like Broadway shows, symphonies, or galas. For casual shows or community events, business casual attire is typically appropriate. You should feel comfortable, but it’s always nice to dress in a way that enhances the special experience of attending a live performance.

Lost and found

If you lose an item during your visit, you can contact the venue’s lost and found department, which is typically located at the guest services desk. Lost items are generally stored for a set period before being disposed of or donated.

Autographs and Meet the Artist policy

The Civic Center and Thelma Gaylord PAT are rental facilities and cannot guarantee autograph opportunities or special meet and greet requests. Artist management may arrange these opportunities and, if available, the Civic Center will include the opportunity along with the standard event information.

Children Policy

Thelma Gaylord PAT leaves decisions regarding age restrictions to the resident company or promoter. However, every guest, regardless of age, must have a ticket. This includes infants or young children that may sit in a lap.

Infant ticketing may vary for child-friendly and family performances. Booster seats are available at guest relations on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be mindful that your children be respectful of other patrons. If your child is disrupting the performance, you may be asked to step into the lobby.

A performance group may restrict the age at which children can attend or provide ratings based on show content. You are responsible for contacting the box office at 405-594-8300 to ask about age recommendations or restrictions before ordering your ticket. Refunds cannot be issued.

Dynamic Pricing

Dynamic pricing is based on timing and other factors. So prices are subject to change without notice. No refunds or exchanges can be given.

Food and Beverage Policy

Thelma Gaylord PAT at The Civic Center does not allow outside food and beverage. Cafe and concessions amenities are available to satisfy your needs. Food is not allowed within any performance spaces, except for bottled drinks sold at the concessions stands. Alcoholic beverages are allowed at select performances. Thelma Gaylord PAT recommends that you call the Box Office at 405-594-8300 to determine if your scheduled event has any restrictions.

Late Arrival Policy

Thelma Gaylord PAT recommends that guests arrive in their seats no later than 10 minutes before curtain time. Production companies reserve the right to restrict access to seating areas after the show begins. If you arrive late, you may be asked to wait in the lobby until a pre-determined break period for entry, to prevent disturbing other patrons or performers. The hold is at the discretion of the resident company or promoter and varies on a show-by-show basis.

Photography and Video Policy

Due to copyright law, Thelma Gaylord PAT strictly prohibits the use of photographic or sound recording devices, including film and digital cameras, digital video recorders, cell phones, and/or other A/V recording devices. Patrons using these devices during performances may be asked to leave. No refunds will be issued and patrons may be asked to delete photographs and recordings.

Light and noise disturbances can hinder the enjoyment of any performance. Use of cell phones is strictly forbidden during any show. This includes the use of phones for texting or photography. Individuals caught using their cell phones may be asked to leave.
