Set in the Bohemian district of the 1900s in Montmartre in Paris, France, witness one of the beautiful but tragic narratives from New York centered on Christian, an aspiring American writer, and Satine, the star of the Moulin Rouge nightclub, as they defy all odds and challenges for the each other. Based on the successful 2001 motion picture by the renowned Baz Luhrmann, the Broadway hit live staging of Moulin Rouge progressed from a wishful hope of fans to an actual staged play that finally came to life on on the live stage and premiered in 2019.

Moulin Rouge, being a tale of classic romance, charms a large range of audiences and has cemented its place in Broadway history.
The Broadway play follows the plot of Christian, an aspiring American writer who travels to Paris to launch a successful career, who then encounters and eventually falls in love with the famous performer Satine of the Moulin Rouge nightclub, one of the highly sought out nightclubs in Montmartre at the turn of the 20th century. Their connection however is not meant to be easy, as the two begin to experience a mountain of difficulties, including the temper of one of Moulin Rouge’s longtime benefactors, the duke of Monroth who targets Satine for himself and prevents Christian from pursuing Satine romantically.
The title roles of Christian and Satine were originated by Tony Award winner Aaron Tveit (for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical), and Tony Award Nominee Karen Olivo (for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical) respectively. They were supported by a talented and famous actors and actresses including Danny Burstein (Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical), and Tony Award Nominee Sahr Ngaujah (Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical) making up one of the best Broadway casts. Running the production, Tony awardees such as Alex Timbers (Best Direction of a Musical), Sonya Tayeh (Best Choreography), and Justin Levine with Katie Kresek, Charlie Rosen, and Matt Stine (Best Orchestrations) create an epic musical.
